London Fire Brigade get new kit following the Grenfell disaster

As part of the response to the Grenfell fire, the London Fire Brigade has today outlined how it's used funding from the Mayor to improve resources and equipment.

New kit was unveiled and tested at the Dockhead Fire Station in Bermondsey, including a special device to protect people from the effects of smoke.

The Brigade has become the first in the UK to use the so-called escape hoods, which filter toxic air for 15 minutes.
